The Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is a must visit place. I could spend hours there between sunrise and sunset. But across the road from the lagoon is a black sand beach that is washed by the Norwegian Sea. Visually I'd always struggled to make sense of what I was seeing. Some of my issue was timing. The light was never quite right. The sun rose that day, the shape of the ice was right and everything came together.
