Lore Evans

A quaint, converted barn in the beautiful Brandywine Valley is where Lore Evans, owner and artist of the Glass Gallery, creates custom designed stained and bevel glass art. Lore is widely recognized as an accomplished professional stained glass artist and her work has been featured in regional publications: The Hunt Magazine, Delaware Today, New Jersey Home, Professional Home Builder, and The Kennett Paper.

To create pieces that perfectly complement her clients' style, Lore works closely with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and home builders. Her clients' needs and wishes are her inspiration in designing distinctive glass windows, doors, cabinets, and countertops for residences, vacation homes, offices, and places of worship. "When clients tell me that my glass looks like it was always meant to be there, it's the greatest compliment."

Lore believes in community and is active in both local and professional organizations. She has been a member of the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce for 18 years and has volunteered in a wide variety of local charitable causes. She was formerly the Delaware Branch President of the National League of American Pen Women and Artists, and also served six years as a board member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association. She is a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.

Lore studied art at Santa Fe College and the University of Florida and has practiced her glasswork in California, Connecticut, and Florida. She is largely self-trained in stained glass, and has begun incorporating both fused and hand-painted elements into her work to create unique glass art.

Each sheet of glass has its own "heart". Some sheets of glass are so beautiful to me on their own; I sometimes don't want to change them. I start with a design but always leave myself open to change by the movement in the glass; the glass inspires me.
