Artist’s Reception & Gallery Talk: Thursday, Sept 7th, 5:30 – 8:30 pm; Artist Talk, 4:30 – 5:30 pm before the opening.

Hardcastle Galley welcomes back Jim Graham for a return engagement from “the Road Home” last June.  Join us for an exceptional exhibition of his new collection “Sticks & Stones.” The show takes you to the city, the country and introspective spaces.  Architectural details of the city in gritty black & white entice the eye with abstracted angles and varying textures. Juxtaposed with these are soft atmospheric views of a country lane and saturated color shots of the babbling Brandywine . In addition, Jim will introduce an innovative and intimate new series of crafted photographs depicting antique wooden marionettes. Empty eyes, like a city window, blend with the organic facade of antique painted wood. Jim has done a remarkable job cultivating a new show to intrigue and inspire his collectors.  Be sure to save the date, Thursday  September 7th for the Artist’s Reception and Gallery Talk where Jim will discuss his philosophy and technique surrounding his work.  The exhibition continues through the month of September.

Politics, Survival, Slavery and Freedom are all depicted in rich and realistic “storyboards” in oil and pastel. Jefferson in Old City Tavern, a little girl Waiting…, Hannah beside the Brandywine, Slave women singing, and of course the Indians watching their land disappear out from under them, Pam blends all of these wonderfully crafted images into a depiction of 18th century life and all of its struggles.

Join us throughout the month of June for a history lesson that is also a gorgeous fine art exhibition created by one of the top artists in the country working in this genre. Pamela’s passion for history comes through in her attention to details and her exceptional painting ability.
